Halloween haunted house and block party to support local youth in Penticton

Spooky party supports youth

A spooky and fun fundraiser is coming to Penticton this Halloween season, hosted by local high school students excited about supporting youth services in the community.

The Penticton Youth Centre at 501 Main Street will be transformed into a haunted house and block party hub on October 25.

From 3 to 7 pm on Padore Avenue between Main and Martin streets, enjoy DJ Splendid Bastard, activities from Amuzing Fun Rentals and much more.

Inside the youth centre, the haunted house will get steadily scarier as the afternoon turns to evening:

  • 4-5 p.m. rated G
  • 6-7 p.m. rated PG
  • 7-8 p.m. rated PG-13

"Our students are thrilled to bring this event to life and support services that truly matter to youth in our community," said Marnie Mennell, leadership class teacher at Pen High.

The by-donation event will support the Penticton Youth Centre, the Pen High Leadership Class and the Maggie Leadership Class.

“We’re so excited to bring this event back again this year and to work with our local leadership students," said Yuki Ihara, Community Foundation of South Okanagan Similkameen said.

"The event is a true collaborative effort, just as the establishment of the Penticton Youth Centre was. There is amazing work being done at the centre and it’s become an important resource in our community. But our work isn’t done – we need to make it accessible to all youth and remove both mental and physical barriers to accessing services. We hope that join us for this fun family event to support our local youth.”
