Penticton council green-lights zoning amendment for Okanagan College student housing complex

Penticton City Council has given the first green light to zoning amendments allowing an 89-unit dormitory-style building for students at Okanagan College.

The proposed development would be located on Railway Street on the Okanagan College campus.

The development would include 79 bachelor units, four accessible dwelling units, three two-bedroom units and three four-bedroom units.

Parking will be required at a rate of one stall per five beds.

Council gave first, second and third reading to the proposed zoning change on Tuesday, with the expectation it will be formally adopted at a subsequent meeting.
