100 Women Who Care South Okanagan raise $5300 to donate to local groups

Women who care give again

The fall meeting of the South Okanagan's 100 Women Who Care was held at the Penticton Art Gallery, awarding $5,300 in total to deserving local non-profits.

The group, which meets four times yearly to hear pitches from organizations in need of funds, met for their most recent quarterly event at the gallery during the Bateman exhibit.

There, they heard pitches from Enactus OC, OSCA and the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society, explaining their services in the community.

Pooled money from the 100 Women group was then allotted to the groups, gifting Enactus OC a $4,300 donation, and OSCA and the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society $500 each.

"A BIG thank you to you - our 100 Women Who Care members! Together, we've now given out more than $170,000 to 60 organizations. This translates to roughly 25 per cnet of registered charities in our region. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of this community," they shared in a press release.

The next event is the group's Annual Little Black Dress event on Nov. 27 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
