Summerland's Camp Agur unveils donor recognition board honouring those 'keeping camp accessible'
Donors recognized at camp
The all-ages and accessibility-minded Agur Lake Camp in Summerland unveiled a donor recognition board earlier this month.
On Aug. 7, the camp held a donor appreciation lunch where the board recognizing its donors was revealed, showcasing those whose contributions are “keeping camping accessible.”
“This year the Agur Lake Camp Society looked for a way to thank everyone who played a key role in constructing, creating and contributing to the camp,” reads a Agur Lake Camp Society press release.
“The board recognizes the hard work and dedication of all those who have made valuable contributions to this project, and have been essential in turning the camp from a dream into a reality.“
The non-profit camp provides accessible cabins, paved trails, and a floating fishing dock for over 600 visitors each summer. The idea for Agur Lake Camp was a dream of Bonnar Dowler's that started 50 years ago.
Recently, the society shared the success of its second annual Light Up the Camp event, where it raised about $6,700 in support of its mission.
