Nama-stay local this month and enjoy some unique yoga in the South Okanagan.
Ever tried GOGA? It’s yoga, with goats! Penticton’s GottaGoat farm runs classes throughout the summer, offering yogis the chance to enjoy a one hour class (two in total, with half hour dedicated to information prior to the class, and the last half hour for enjoyment with the goats), with goats.
“(The goats) just love the people and spend much of the time going from person to person for pets, or curling up on their yoga mats,” said co-owner Cindy Campbell. “It is held in a beautiful mountain farm setting, and everyone has such a fun and relaxing time. Plus, our (professional) yoga instructors are very patient when all the phones come out to take a picture if one of the goats faints!”
Running since 2017, Campbell added that the classes are great for beginners, and new this year are family GOGA classes, with children ages 6-12 welcome to join.
“When there are a number of little goats all around everyone, they might steal the show,” said Campbell. “Everyone who has attended a Goat Yoga class thoroughly enjoys the experience and leaves with a huge smile. In fact, many people tell us this is something on their "bucket list."”
GottaGoat provides yoga mats as classes are held in the pasture, to prevent mats from home getting dirty.

Join The BE Hive for an outdoor class throughout the month of August. Classes are held throughout the summer in a variety of parks throughout Penticton and the Regional district of the Okanagan-Similkameen.
