Another game at the South Okanagan Events Center, can only mean another victory for the Penticton Valley First Vees. Make it four games and four victories.
Windsor Ontario native Travis Ouelette scored his fifth goal of the season, 40 seconds into the second overtime period to give the Vees the 3-2 victory in BCHL action Thursday night in Penticton against the visiting Victoria Grizzlies.
Forward Denver Manderson, 19, continued his torrid pace, notching another goal and assist in Thursday's victory. Since returning from the Ontario Hockey League a few weeks ago Manderson has collected eight points in just five BCHL games. Also scoring for the Vees was Captain Brent Vandenberg who tallied his team leading tenth goal of the season mid-way through the first period.
The Grizzlies were held to just eighteen shots in the game, with WHL castoff Evin Pighin scoring both Grizz goals. An oddity of sorts, all four goals scored in regulation time were scored while the teams were playing with a man advantage.
Penticton goalie Anthony Borelli earned the win, while Victoria goalie Anthony Grieco was tagged with the loss.
Three Stars in the game were 1) Ouelette 2) Zack Josepher - Penticton 3) Pighin
Both teams are in action tomorrow night, with Penticton hosting the Quesnel Millionaires, while the Grizzlies travel to Trail to tangle with the Smokies.
