Oliver fire crews extinguish dog house fire before it spreads into main home

Doused dog house fire

All residents of an Oliver home and their dog are safe thanks to the Oliver Fire Department extinguishing a dog house on fire next to their home early Wednesday morning.

The fire department shared on Facebook that they were called to the report of a dog house on fire next to a home off Mckinney Road at 6:45 a.m.

Crews arrived to find the dog house destroyed by the fire and burned up the side of the home. The fire was doused by firefighters before it could advance to the interior of the home.

Damage to the home was contained to the exterior only, and luckily, the dog was not hurt.

Fire crews reported they were on scene for about one hour.
