Penticton's Winter Recreation guide available this week

Get ready to get active

The launch of Recreation Penticton’s Winter 2022-2023 Recreation Guide this week is full of aquatics, fitness classes, skating, drop-in sports, children’s classes and adult recreation.

The new recreation opportunities include classes and facility offerings in the winter schedule, which will become available on Nov. 30.

“Remember that swimming lessons will look different in this edition of the Guide,” Recreation Business Supervisor, Cheryl Wiebe said.

“With Red Cross transitioning swimming lessons to Lifesaving Society of BC, swim levels will have different names, but we will still provide high quality and effective swim lessons under the new program.”

To help determine which level your child should enroll in, an equivalency chart is available at penticton.ca/aquatics

The guide will become available on Nov. 30 online at penticton.ca/recguide or pick up a hard copy at these locations:
• Penticton Community Centre
• Okanagan College
• Penticton Seniors Drop-in Centre
• OneSky Community Resources
• Penticton Public Library
• Penticton Art Gallery
• BGC Okanagan

Registration for programs opens Wednesday, Dec. 7 for residents and Thursday, Dec. 8 for non-residents.

Sign-up can be completed online through the City’s website penticton.ca/register or by calling the Penticton Community Centre at 250-490-2426 ext. 6

Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the guide was currently available. In fact, the guide will not be available until Nov. 30. Castanet apologizes for the error.
