South Okanagan raptor rescue nursing bald eagle found injured in Peachland back to health

Eagle saved after attack

A bald eagle rescued near Peachland is doing well in the care of SORCO, the Okanagan's only raptor rehabilitation centre for injured birds of prey.

The female bald eagle was found ten days ago missing all the skin on one wing.

SORCO thinks the injuries may have been the result of a predator attack.

"She has a long recovery ahead of her however looks very positive, she requires alot of care including meds and dressing changes," SORCO posted on social media Wednesday.

"Thank you to all those involved in her rescue and volunteers caring for her daily."

SORCO is a non-profit organization based in Oliver that takes in dozens of injured birds of prey and orphaned babies every year, nursing them back to health whenever possible and re-releasing them to the wild. They rely on the generosity of donors to continue their work.
