ORIGINAL: 10:50 a.m.

Highway 3 is closed near Similkameen Falls after a semi-truck jack-knifed across the highway Saturday morning, leaving the truck hanging over the edge of a steep drop off.

DriveBC said that the vehicle incident is between Garret Road and Saturday Creek, which is 43 km west of Princeton and approximately 21 km east of Manning Park.

Travellers should expect major delays in the area.

Crews are on scene and an assessment is in progress.

DriveBC currently has no estimated time of reopening.

The closure comes after a chaotic night on the Coquihalla and Okanagan Connector, as snowy conditions led to a number of crashes and closures.
