100 Women dole out aid
Penticton's 100 Women who Care group was back at it again this week, awarding $5,600 in total to deserving local non-profits.
The group, which meets four times yearly to hear pitches from local organizations in need of funds, met for their third quarter event at Match Eatery on Thursday.
They awarded the Penticton Breakfast Club, now serving four schools, $4,600. The money will go towards expanding the program further, recruiting more volunteers and buying more food to ensure kids all over Penticton have enough to eat.
Okanagan Gleaners and Critteraid also each walked away with $500. The money for Critteraid will go specificalyl towards their wellness program supporting people with mental health issues through animal therapy.
100 Women will meet for the final 2022 event at the Penticton Lakeside Resort in November.
