An Okanagan Falls resident wants his neighbours to be careful about garbage and other attractants after spotting a mother bear and two babies.
The Castanet reader shared his photograph, snapped Friday, of the sow with two youngsters climbing his neighbour's maple tree.
Conservation officers are aware of the trio.
The Okanagan Falls man hopes those in the community will be extra careful, given the bear family's presence, about securing garbage, not leaving pet food out and other bear-safe habits.
The BC Conservation Officer Service is also urging the public to be careful, lest bears become habituated to garbage and being around humans. Bears are very hungry this time of year, looking to fatten up before the winter, so are especially susceptible to smelly lures.
