Police still hunting Naramata resident's killer one year later

1 year since body found

One year following the RCMP's discovery of a woman's body in her home in Naramata, police are still trying to find her killer.

Kathy Richardson was found dead on June 10, 2021, when RCMP attended the home as a part of the investigation into May's double homicide.

Richardson, 57, was the mother of Wade Cudmore, 32, one of two men charged with the homicide of Kamloops brothers Carlos and Erick Fryer, whose bodies were found in a remote area near Naramata in May.

"Both the Richardson and the Fryer brother homicides investigations remain active and on-going," Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in a statement.

Police have yet to name any suspects in Richardson's murder.

Investigators from Southeast District Major Crimes and BC RCMP Major Crime units are working together investigating the homicide.

Cudmore is in custody awaiting trial for double murder and will have a four-day preliminary inquiry in September. Lawyers expect a four-day inquiry from Sept. 26 to 29, during which it will be determined whether evidence supports proceeding to a full trial.

His co-accused, 35-year-old Anthony Graham of Penticton, remains at large.

"Efforts to locate Graham are continuing. To date he has not been located and his whereabouts are unknown," Shoihet added.

Police said all three killings are likely connected to local drug and gang activities.
