Two Zambonis coming to SOEC

Even with the cold snap across the South Okanagan, workers are still plugging away at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton.

General manager of the new arena complex, Curtis Webb, says two new ice cleaners are on order.

“We’ve actually bought two Zambonis. They are really quite the same thing as Olympians, but there are a few differences, such as the way they apply the water,” says Webb.

He says during hockey games and ice dancing shows, they’ll use both Zambonis at the same time to allow for more special intermission promotions.
