New principals, vice principals at School District 67 schools

Principals shakeup at SD67

School District 67 has shaken a few things up when it comes to administrative roles at schools for the 2022/23 school year.

The district governs public schools in the Penticton and Summerland areas.

The full list of changes is as follows:

  • Ms. Jennifer Wingham, Vice Principal at Penticton Secondary School will move to Carmi Elementary School as Principal replacing Mr. Dave Ritchie who will be retiring July 31, 2022.
  • Ms. Sondra McGuire will be joining Penticton Secondary School as a Vice Principal. Ms. McGuire joins SD 67 from SD 57 (Prince George), where she is currently Vice Principal of D.P. Todd Secondary.
  • Ms. Rachel Stubbert will be joining Penticton Secondary School as a Vice Principal. Ms. Stubbert currently works as a teacher at Summerland Secondary and has time as a District helping teacher in curriculum and assessment.
  • Mr. Bo Boxall, Vice Principal at Penticton Secondary School will move to Princess Margaret Secondary School as Principal.
  • Mr. Roger Wiebe, Principal at Princess Margaret Secondary School will replace Ms. Diane Haddow as Principal at Kaleden Elementary School. Ms. Haddow will assume a District role in H.R. with a focus on CUPE and French Programs and Instruction. This change reflects a re- organization of the HR department and represents a cost savings to the District.
  • Mr. Scott McIntosh, Vice Principal at Giant’s Head Elementary School will move to Queen’s Park Elementary School as Principal, replacing Mr. Ron Manning who retires July 31, 2022.
  • Ms. Jacquie Hicks will join Giant’s Head Elementary School as their Vice Principal. Ms. Hicks is currently the Vice Principal at Wiltse Elementary School.
  • Ms. Lindsay Guza, currently acting Vice Principal at Skaha Lake Middle will become the Vice Principal at Skaha Lake Middle School.
  • Ms. Jessa Arcuri, currently Vice Principal at Skaha Lake Middle School will be joining Wiltse Elementary School as Vice Principal.
  • Mr. Steve DeVito will be replacing Mr. Darcy Mullin as Principal at Summerland Middle School. Mr. Mullin will start his new position as International Program Principal on August 1, 2022. The District will be in a position to announce the new Principal of KVR Middle School on Thursday, May 12.

The Board of Education sends its congratulations to all who have received new appointments, and thanks Dave Ritchie and Ron Manning for their work. The new roles will begin Aug. 1.
