Venables Theater in Oliver full speed ahead with live show lineup

Comeback Venables lineup

The Venables Theatre in Oliver is getting back into the swing of things as pandemic restrictions lift and people are hungry for live events.

They are looking forward to a busy May, with tickets already on sale for a variety of events.

Kicking things off is Shrek the Musical Jr., performed by the Oliver Elementary School fine arts club students. Based on the Broadway show that itself was based on the popular movie Shrek, the musical is sure to charm hearts and tickle funny bones.

Performances are May 3, 4 and 5 at 7 p.m.

Next up will be The Oot N'Oots on Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. The band is based in Kelowna and is up for a 2022 Juno Award for Children's Album of the Year.

Their music is described as "wildly imaginative, brimming with humour and inspiration," and enjoyable for all ages.

Then the Montreal Guitare Trio takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on the same day.

Check out the Louisiana Hayride Show on Wednesday, May 11, full of tribute acts to major stars like Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, Elvis and more.

And for an additional throwback experience, BeeGees Gold tribute act will take the stage on Saturday, May 14.

Comic Shaun Majumder will perform on Sunday, May 15, and the month of May will be rounded out by the 2022 Okanagan Zone Theatre Festival from May 22 to 28.
