Foo Fighters cancel all upcoming dates, including Penticton

Foo Fighters cancel date

The Foo Fighters have announced they will not be proceeding with all upcoming concerts as they mourn the sudden loss of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

This includes the Penticton concert scheduled for Oct. 1, 2022, which sold out in under ten minutes.

“We’re sorry and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together," reads a statement from the band Tuesday.

Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in Colombia on March 25. The band had been in South America for a tour.

Toxicology reports indicated he had "10 types of substances" in his body at the time of his death.

The tour date in Penticton was organized by LiveNation. Customers who purchased tickets with a credit card will have the ticket price and the per-ticket fee automatically reversed beginning April 4, 2022. LiveNation says anyone who has not received a refund by Friday, April 29, should contact the Valley First Box Office (at the SOEC) at [email protected].
