Summerland brewery closing its doors after five years if not purchased

Brewery pouring its last pint

On its fifth anniversary, a Summerland brewery shared that this celebration will likely be its last.

Detonate Brewing Company posted the announcement to their social media on Friday, stating that the business is currently for sale, but will be shutting its doors in the coming weeks if not sold.

"Over the past 5 plus years there has been a lot of highs and lows through operating this little brewery and I am extremely grateful for the support of the community but it has come time for me to step back and spend more time with my family," their announcement reads.

The brewery will be offering $5 pints for their anniversary Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to at least 7 p.m. for this weekend and the next.

"Stop by and fill your growler and have one of the last pints at Detonate!"

The brewery was Summerland’s first and has expanded over its years in the business.
