Green Mountain Health Alliance secures cannabis cultivation licence

Big day for Green Mountain

Green Mountain Health Alliance has received its cannabis cultivation and medical sales licence from Health Canada.

The Penticton-based company, whose greenhouse is located near Kaleden, started out in the hemp and cannabidiol business, and created online medical consulting platform Greener Life Medical. Now it can expand its market thanks to the addition of cannabis.

“Obtaining a standard cultivation licence represents a significant milestone for the business,” Green Mountain president and CEO Wade Attwood said in a press release. "This is the game-changer that opens the door to production and cash flow.

“We’ve been preparing for this moment for some time now, and we have already pre-sold our entire greenhouse space—half under contract for 12 months and the other half for 24 months.”

Green Mountain expects production to begin within a couple of weeks, and it is currently raising money in an effort to expand.
