Penticton police kept intoxicated passenger off plane

Kept off plane by police

A disturbance involving a belligerent passenger at the Penticton Airport led to police intervention this weekend.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Penticton RCMP were called to the airport to help deal with an intoxicated passenger.

The individual had a ticket to board a Pacific Coastal Airlines flight bound for Vancouver, but was not deemed fit to fly.

The person caused enough of a disturbance that police were called. Supt. Brian Hunter of Penticton RCMP said officers arrived and arrested the unnamed individual for public intoxication.

They were transported to the local jail cells to sober up.

Once sober, the individual was released without charges.
