RCMP arrest suspect in connection with several robberies that spanned through Vernon down to the South Okanagan

RCMP nab prolific thief

Police have arrested a prolific offender who managed to a rob multiple stores over a nearly month-long period from Vernon to Osoyoos, including two in the Penticton area.

In a team up between the Penticton and Vernon Prolific Offender Management squads and the West Kelowna General Investigation Section, a joint investigation went underway for several robberies were committed between Oct.18 and Nov. 14, 2021.

Officers identified and arrested Shawn Lamouroux, a 37-year-old Vernon resident, on Nov. 18.

Officers took Lamouroux into custody and the BC Prosecution Service has approved seven counts of robbery.

Lamouroux remains in remanded custody.

"With our local Detachment's specialized sections working together on these files, a suspect was quickly identified and within days an arrest was able to be made. This is another example of the dedication our officers have in keeping our communities safe," Cst. James Grandy, Media Relations Officer for the RCMP in Penticton said in a press release.
