Fundraiser launched for 'beloved son' lost in fatal semi-truck crash near Princeton

'Beloved son' dead in crash

One of the people who died in a tragic semi-truck collision near Princeton Friday has been identified as a young man from Ontario.

Rajanbir Singh Gill, 22, was named in a GoFundMe organized by his brother in law Sukhjinder Singh.

Singh wrote in the fundraiser that Gill was the only son of his parents who came to Canada in December 2018. Gill had been on a work permit, and had been living with a relative in Brampton, Ont.

"He was in Princeton General Hospital when he passed away due to internal fatal injuries caused during a massive truck collision," Singh wrote.

Singh organized the fundraiser to "help [Gill's] parents say goodbye to their beloved son for the last time," setting a goal of $30,000.

As of Monday afternoon, the fundraiser had already raised more than $26,000.

Highway 3 was plagued by tragedy this weekend, with the latest fatality taking place Monday morning.
