97 South Song Sessions is coming back to Penticton featuring top songwriters behind memorable hits

The writers behind the hits

Tickets for the fourth annual 97 South Song Sessions performing festival are now available, just in time to be a perfect holiday gift.

This year's festival runs from July 21 to 23 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, featuring acoustic music performances and storytelling as top award-winning, multi-genre artists share the stage and explain the origin of their hit songs.

It features both Canadian and American songwriters from the country, pop and rock genres who were behind some of the most memorable hits any music fan will be sure to recognize.

Early lineup confirmations include Grammy winner and Hall of Famer Tim Nichols (Live Like You Were Dying/Tim McGraw) who returns to the show in 2022, iconic Canadian songsmith and recording artist Marc Jordan (Rhythm of My Heart/Rod Stewart) and longtime Sheryl Crow collaborator, Jeff Trott (Every Day Is A Winding Road, Soak Up The Sun).

“We’re excited to bring such a special lineup of world-class songwriters to our beloved Okanagan Valley and to introduce a national audience to this beautiful and fast-growing wine region," said Robert Ott, festival director.

“Our past audiences have found this event to be an unparalleled music and storytelling experience. It’s a powerful performance and one of the most purely creative, intimate music happenings you’ll ever be part of.”

Pass holders will enjoy two 90-minute shows on back-to-back nights featuring four songwriters per night playing their hits and telling the stories behind them hosted by media personality Paul McGuire.

A weekend festival pass, general seating at two shows, is $180.00 CAD per person. VIP passes, including VIP seating, an exclusive VIP dinner and a VIP afterparty, are available for $375 CAD per person, plus applicable taxes/fees. Find tickets here.

More of the 97 South Song Sessions 2022 lineup will be announced over the coming weeks. Keep up with the announcements on their website or follow @97southsongs on Instagram and Facebook.
