Several properties, Cathedral Lakes Lodge, on evacuation alert due to the Cool Creek fire

Several properties around Cathedral Provincial Park have been placed on evacuation alert due to the Cool Creek wildfire.

The announcement was made a 2p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The alert, within Electoral Area G, involves seven properties, including Cathedral Lakes Lodge.

Regional district officials says the evacuation alert has been issued out of an abundance of caution.

Those properties on alert include:

• District Lot 2056S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District 2211 Ewart Creek Rd.
• District Lot 2200S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District
• District Lot 2391S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District
• District Lot 2864S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District
• District Lot 3235S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District
• Similkameen Div of Yale Land District, Ranger Station – Cathedral Provincial Park
• District Lot 3236S, Similkameen Div of Yale Land District

The fire, discovered more than two weeks ago, is mapped at 175 hectares in size, and is listed as out of control.
