Some gas stations in southern Okanagan near Osoyoos, out of fuel

The owner of the husky gas station on Highway 3 and NightHawk Drive in Osoyoos says multiple gas stations in the area have run out of gas.

His station ran out shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, along with multiple others in the area. Some were even out this morning.

He speculated that the area is out of gas due to the increase of residents and visitors filling up their tanks in preparation to the Nk’Mip Creek Wildfire.

“Everybody’s panicking and filling up on gas, heading out,” he added.

Deliveries are on their way for the area to receive more gas. The Shell Gas station in the area is reported to have gas at the current time.
