RCMP name homicide victim found in Naramata house

Homicide victim identified

Investigators have confirmed the woman found dead in her home by police on Wednesday is Kathleen Richardson, 57, from Naramata.

Richardson’s home, located at 3940 3rd Street, also operated as the Naramata Hair Salon.

Southeast District Major Crime investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in their ongoing investigation.

“We are releasing Kathleen’s name in order to help further the ongoing investigation,” BC RCMP spokesperson Dawn Roberts said in a press release.

“Investigators want to speak to anyone who had dealings with Kathleen in the days before her death. Understanding her movements or activities will help continue to move this investigation forward.”

In addition, police are also asking for any dash cam video from anyone who was driving in the Naramata area on Sunday June 6 through Wednesday June 9.

RCMP continue to believe Richardson’s death is related to the double homicide which occurred last month, where Kamloops brothers Erick and Carlos Fryer were found dead in a remote location in the Naramata Creek area by a couple out walking on May 10.

All are likely connected to local drug and gang activities and the additional police resources supporting the investigations will remain in the area.

Anyone with any information about Kathleen’s death or the deaths of Erick and Carlos Fryer is asked to contact the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit tipline at 1-877-987-8477.
