Penticton byelection advanced voting begins Wednesday

Time to get out and vote

It's voting time in Penticton.

Wednesday, June 9 is the first day of advanced voting in the byelection to fill an empty seat on Penticton council, formerly held by now-retired Jake Kimberley.

Voting will be available at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to anyone 18 or older who lives in or owns property within Penticton city boundaries.

For the past 10 days, Castanet has been conducting Q&As with all 10 candidates running for your vote.

The candidates also took part in all-candidates forums, one on business issues that can be watched here and one on seniors issues that can be found here.

Voters will also see the following question on their ballot: "Do you support the City selecting a private operator and entering into a long-term agreement of up to 25 years in order to fund the marina improvements and provide marina services at Skaha Lake Park?" Find more information on that question here.

Another advanced voting day will take place Saturday, June 12 and regular election day is Saturday, June 19.
