Penticton's Fest of Ale cancelled for 2021, as in 2020

Fest of Ale axed for 2021

For the second year running, the Okanagan Fest of Ale in Penticton has been cancelled.

COVID-19 restrictions claimed the event in 2020, and now organizers have made the decision to cancel the 2021 iteration as well.

"The health and safety of our members and industry colleagues is critical, as is doing what we can to avoid any further spread of the virus. We hope everyone stays well during this challenging time," they wrote in a press release Wednesday.

The festival typically takes over the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, with beverage vendors from around the province, food booths, entertainment and live music. Net proceeds of the nonprofit event are donated to charity.

2020 was supposed to be the 25th anniversary of the festival, but festival number 25 will have to wait until 2022.

"On behalf of the Okanagan Fest of Ale Board of Directors, we look forward to seeing all our trusted vendors, patrons, and artists on the other side of the pandemic and when it is once again safe to gather. We will see you at next years event on April 8 & 9, 2022!"
