Penticton RCMP looking into attempted arson at Main St. business

RCMP in Penticton are investigating an attempted arson at the back door of a Main Street business.

Early Tuesday morning, around 4 a.m., RCMP and the Penticton Fire Department responded to reports that a fire had been set at the back door of a bank in the 400 block of Main Street.

The fire was extinguished once authorities arrived, but they discovered the front glass doors had also been smashed.

"Officers are reviewing video surveillance and witness statements, and encouraging anyone who may have been in the area at time, and saw anything suspicious, to call us,” said Cst. James Grandy.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
