The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen awarded grants to 17 projects throughout the region

Grants for local charities

Thanks to the partnership with Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada, CFSOS was able to provide organizations and charities with these funds. The grant was also possible through the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund in the South Okanagan Similkameen region.

The group was started in May 2020, administered through the CFSOS and focused on finding charities in need, helping to support vulnerable populations impacted by COVID-19. The grant was administered to 17 projects that support children, youth, seniors, vulnerable workers, those requiring special care and supports and marginalized populations.

Multiple organizations received funding through ECSF throughout the southern end of the Okanagan Valley, including Penticton Resource Recovery Society, Penticton & Area Access Centre, Osoyoos Seniors Centre and the Princeton & District Community Services.

While they are on longer accepting applications for ECSF, upcoming grant opportunities will be posted on their website at www.cfso.net.
