Solco Creek fire contained

UPDATE 5:01 p.m.

The Kamloops Fire Centre tells Castanet that the Solco Creek Fire is now classified, "as being held".

Fire fighting crews have been battling the blaze all day and have managed to establish a fireguard with the help of the helicopters working the fire from the air.

The fire remains at 13.80 hectares in size, however, crews will continue working on-site until the fire is snuffed completely.

The Solco Creek wildfire remains at 13.80 hectares in size, according to the BC Wildfire Service's online mapping tool.

The blaze, discovered on July 30, is currently being held. It's located east of Okanagan Falls and approximately 27 kilometres northeast of Oliver.
