No days off for bylaw officers as city council votes in favour of staffing on Sundays.

Bylaw now working Sundays

“I brought this motion forward back in March of 2020 and because of COVID-19, it was postponed until today and it has to do with having two bylaw officers on Sundays,” Vassilaki said.

The mayor stated the city needs someone to be on duty to take care of all the complaints that come in.

“The reason I brought it forward is because crime or break-ins or all those bad things that happen don’t stop because it’s Sunday,”

The cost for the service is estimated at $7,000 to run until the end of September.

Council voted unanimously in favour of the bill.
