Healthcare workers, first responders and emergency workers honoured

Cherry Lane pays tribute

Cherry Lane Shopping Centre is paying tribute to those essential workers helping everyone cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Murals honouring healthcare workers, first responders and emergency workers are now visible along the east side of the mall.

“We wanted to extend our heartfelt “Thank You” into the community to those who are on the front lines every day, but wanted it to have a big impact. The shopping centre itself is very visible from Main Street, so we decided to use our front mural spaces for the message,” said Cherry Lane marketing director Andrea Davison. “We felt it was important to do, as these people are not only our customers, but they are people taking risks every day to keep us safe, as well as keeping us supplied with what we require for our everyday needs.

“We felt it had to be impactful — a larger than life “Thank you”, to let them know we are thinking of them every day.”

The murals were designed by the Cherry Lane graphic design team, led by Kelly at Lerbekmo Design, and produced by Rich and his team at Speedpro Signs Penticton.

“There is no timeframe for how long we will keep this message up along the front of the shopping centre. We are just so thankful to the dedicated professionals, workers and volunteers for what they do for us every day, especially during this challenging time," said Davison. "We also would like to thank the community for practicing and implementing social distancing along with the suggestions put forward by the Health Authorities.”
