Primary care workers in South Okanagan will accept masks, gloves

Call for masks, gloves

While the Penticton Regional Hospital, operated by Interior Health, is not currently asking for donations of personal protective equipment like gloves and masks for health workers, the South Okanagan Similkameen Division of Family Practice is.

Family doctors, nurse practitioners and midwives in the region are now accepting public donations to assist their front line battle against COVID-19.

"We’re very grateful for the support of our community, as we make our way through this challenging time,” says Dr. Tim Phillips, SOS Division of Family Practice physician lead.

Drop-off donations will not be accepted. Any individual or business interested in donating any unused equipment is asked to email [email protected]

The group is currently looking to acquire:

  • Surgical or procedural masks or n95 masks
  • Industrial dust masks
  • Latex and non-latex gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Safety goggles
  • Face shields (with or without masks)
  • Procedural gowns
