The mayor of Keremeos is apologizing for the smell.
Mayor Walter Despot says the steps taken so far to control the smell from the sewer treatment plant haven’t been working.
He says a new program will begin Tuesday which should make a noticeable difference.
Despot says the Village will be injecting a bio-degradable non-hazardous bio-stimulant into the sewer system.
“We will also be trying this formula on the drying beds that are causing the majority of the problem. Within a few days the odour should be far less noticeable,” says Despot.
The Village is working with Can West Technologies on the program.
