Construction along Main Street in Penticton set to begin

The construction season appears ready to begin.

Work is expected to begin in the next week on Main Street in Penticton.

Drivers will be slowed by three phases of road work.

There will be construction between the intersections of Industrial Avenue to Rosetown Avenue, Rosetown Avenue to Okanagan Avenue, and Okanagan Avenue to Warren Avenue. 

The work includes new water mains, sanitary mains, storm mains and repaving of road sections.

“The City thanks residents and business owners for their patience while the work is carried out”, said city design supervisor Tyler Figgitt.

Traffic, access, to nearby businesses and utility disruptions will hinder drivers, foot passengers and shoppers. 

The city says residents will be given advance notice of any planned interruption of utility service or property access.
