The Penticton fire department has been going to the Community Centre a lot this week.
Deputy fire chief, Dave Spalding, says the centre's chlorine alarm has gone off twice in the last two days.
“They had the same situation two nights in a row, a small chlorine leak has set off the detector. They have quite an elaborate system to monitor for leaks,” says Spalding.
He says the chlorine is kept in a shed away from the main building and there is no risk to the public.
Chlorine alarms are similar to natural gas detectors and are hooked into local fire departments the same way fire alarms are.
