Accused Hill Killer In Court

The man accused of killing Olive Hill was in court Monday.

Corey Wolf Swite, 21, appeared briefly in Penticton provincial court via video link.

Swite is facing one count of first-degree murder in the death of 85-year-old Hill, who was found in her apartment on August 4, 2006.

Crown prosecutor, John Swanson, says Monday's appearance was to provide information.

“Crown will be providing the defence council with some additional information. The next appearance will be on April 2,” says Swanson.

He says the next step is to set a preliminary inquiry date.

“Once defence has an adequate amount of information, they will set the inquiry date. When we meet again on April 2, they will say if they are ready to set the date,” says Swanson.

Swite will remain in custody until his next appearance.
