Penticton Pilot Missing

The search is still on for a Penticton man who has been missing for two weeks.

Ted Clark was last heard from on February 22 as he flew a single-engine Maule plane in Mexico.

His wife, Sharyn Clark, says he was flying from Tapachula to La Ceiba, Honduras on a humanitarian mission when he disappeared.

She says he made a call to a flight tower 14 minutes into his flight, requesting permission to go up to 9,000 feet. That was the last anyone heard from the 61-year-old pilot.

Clark says the Guatemalan government would not pay for a search, so her brother-in-law went down to help organize a search party.

She says a local Guatemalan flying club has helped with the search, but so far they have not had any luck.

Clark is a member of the Penticton Untied Church's peace, justice and environment committee, but his humanitarian efforts in Central America were his own undertaking.
