Environment Canada issues warnings which include Okanagan

Snowfall warning for south

Environment Canada has issued multiple weather alerts for B.C. including a snowfall warning for the South Okanagan - including Penticton.

Environment Canada is calling for snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm as a Pacific storm is expected to bring heavy snow to the southern Okanagan. Snow will taper off to flurries later this morning. An additional 5-10 cm is expected this morning before the system moves away.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

A winter storm warning is also in effect for Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass. 

The same Pacific storm is bringing heavy snow to Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass. Snow will continue through today and then taper off tonight. Total snowfall accumulations of 30 to 40 cm is expected with this event.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall and Arctic outflow warnings are in effect for the Fraser Valley and the Fraser Canyon as well. You can see the latest weather alerts here.
