Four Summerland homes are on the chopping block to make room for a new park.
The homes, located on Lakeshore Drive, will be torn down this fall giving renters more than six months notice.
Parks and recreation director, Dale MacDonald, says the municipal park will include picnic and natural riparian areas.
He says the park will be bisected by two homes the municipality was unable to purchase.
The cost of the park is estimated at about $139,000 and work is set to start in October.
