Man accused of beach attack earlier this year arrested again

Alleged attacker back in jail

The man accused of nearly killing a man in a one-punch attack on Penticton’s Okanagan beach earlier this year is back in prison after being arrested over the weekend on new charges.

Thomas Kruger-Allen, 22, is facing seven new counts including two counts of assault causing bodily harm, break and enter and uttering threats for an incident alleged to have occurred on Oct. 19 in Penticton.

Online court records indicate he appeared in court Monday and will do so again on Nov. 6.

Kruger-Allen had been out on bail since June 24, when he was released by Judge Michelle Daneliuk with a long list of conditions. Daneliuk’s reasons for release are covered under a standard publication ban.

He is charged with aggravated assault, sexual assault and two count of common assault in relation to an incident on Okanagan Lake Beach on May 3.

The victim of the alleged attack, 28-year-old Bradley Eliason, was left in a coma for several days and required extensive surgeries to rebuild his skull and mitigate seizures.

His wife Chelcie Townend told Castanet after the assault that her husband tried to intervene after two inebriated men started harassing youth at a camp fire on Okanagan Lake beach. Eliason was allegedly punched, falling back and hitting his head hard on the concrete.

In July, Kruger-Allen received a term of probation for his role in a swarming attack outside the Mule Nightclub that left the victim with a broken nose. He was on bail for the nightclub ambush when the alleged beach attack occurred.
