Jaws of Life needed to free driver in Channel Parkway crash

Serious collision on Parkway

The driver in a serious collision on Penticton's Channel Parkway had to be extricated from the vehicle Tuesday morning.

The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Channel Parkway and Duncan Avenue.

One person was loaded onto a stretcher and into an ambulance, while the driver of a heavily damaged compact wagon had to be extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life.

Northbound traffic on the Parkway was brought to a standstill.

Multiple fire crews and paramedics are on scene.

A second vehicle, a pickup, has been towed from the scene.

It's not known what caused the collision.
