KVSR 'terror train' returns bigger and better this year

All aboard the terror train

The Terror Train is rolling through Summerland again this Halloween, promising an even spookier experience.

The Kettle Valley Steam Railway staff and volunteers have been hard at work to put on the Terror Train, according to Gerry Conrad, Kettle Valley Railway Society director at large.

The Terror Train made its inaugural appearance in 2018, quickly selling out all four trains over two nights. Due to popular demand, they are adding a third night.

“This year we will add new features on the train, track-side and at the station while we build on many of the successful elements we offered last year,” said Conrad.

As was the case for this summer’s successful ‘Murder On The Rails’ dinner theatre, they are working with the Summerland Singers and Players again. These actors have transformed themselves into creepy and terrifying characters.

This year they will be offering their Halloween Terror Trains on Oct. 25, 26 and 27. On each night, they will offer a train at 5 p.m. with a "lighter" theme aimed at the younger trick or treaters.  The 7:30 p.m. train is where they will up their game and offer a more intense experience for mature audiences.

“Treats and tricks will be on offer throughout the experience and it should be a good time for all,” said Conrad.

The Kettle Valley Railway Society is also asking neighbours whose yards back onto the tracks to decorate their yards to make the event even more spooktacular.
