Left after hoarding situation

Chelsea Powrie

Winston is still waiting for his forever home, one year after Critteraid Animal Sanctuary rescued him from a hoarding situation near Kaleden.

Fifty cats and kittens were rescued at the time, many of whom needed to be nursed back to health by the Critteraid team.

Many of the other cats have long since been adopted, but Winston remains, and animal director Jess Byer can't understand why.

"He has really come out of his shell and become the biggest little teddy bear you've ever met," she said. "He loves treats, treats are his favourite time of the day! We have bedtime snackies, and he can never get enough."

Byer estimates Winston is two to three years old. He is looking for a home with no other pets, with the exception of maybe an older, friendly cat, and no small children, because he prefers a calm, laid-back environment.

"He needs a regular brush, but you will never find a bigger softie than our little Winston," Byer said.
