How far will you go for gas?

Chelsea Powrie

Prices per litre for gas in the North, Central and South Okanagan this week have seen major differences, with Penticton often 20 cents lower than more northerly counterparts.

Castanet hit the streets Friday to find out how far locals are willing to drive for a good deal on gas.

"I'd only drive very minimally, maybe 5 kilometres, on the way to somewhere," said one woman.

"Depending on the price difference I would," said another man, adding that if it was only about five cents or so it wouldn't be worth even the short drive from Penticton to Summerland.

"If the tank is empty and I can save $5, I'll go for a drive," another man said.

"I wouldn't go to another town for it, I try to stay in one town," another said.

A final man said it comes down to valuing your own time.

"I'm not going to drive 15 kilometres to save $1,'" he said.
