A $4 Scratch and Win ticket has given one Penticton man a very big birthday
present.
On January 24, Lennard Deglow celebrated his 39th birthday by winning the
top prize on a Set For Life scratch and win ticket.
"My sister gave me several of the tickets as my birthday gift, I scratched
one and saw that I had three identical symbols. I wasn't sure at first if I
needed three or four matching symbols, so I asked my sister. When she said
three, we went wild," says Deglow.
Deglow, who works as a crane truck operator for a local construction
company, says he plans to use the money to pay off bills, buy a new truck
and help out his family.
Julie Cook of the BC Lottery Corporation says Deglow took the prize of
$1,000 a week for 25 years in a lump payment of $675,000.
"He told me he plans to continue working because he enjoys it," says Cook.
She says there is still at least one top prize on the Set For Life games
waiting to be won in B.C.
