Local wildlife artist dies

Terry Isaac, a well-known and nationally recognized Penticton-based wildlife artist, has passed away.

An announcement posted on the website for his gallery on Upper Bench Road calls the passing "sudden and unexpected."

"Terry was excited about his upcoming shows, workshops and paintings, as was obvious in his plans, conversations and inspirations," the post reads.

"We will honour Terry by keeping his Gallery open for the summer, continue to exhibit his work, as promised, and operate his store, at the gallery and online, to provide Terry's art to those who wish to own a piece of his artistic genius and legacy."

Isaac created vivid, realistic paintings of wildlife, and was recently selected as the Ducks Unlimited national artist of the year.

His life will be celebrated on a date in August that has yet to be decided.
