Armed robber nabbed

Officers have arrested a suspect in Okanagan Falls who they believe was behind an early morning armed robbery near Yellow Lake last month.

On June 20 at 3 a.m., the occupants of a U-Haul van had been sleeping at the rest stop near the lake when a man woke them up, produced a firearm and threatened them, demanding money.

The couple handed over some personal belongings, and the suspect locked the pair in the back of their van. The two called 9-1-1 from their cell phone.

Later that same morning, Oliver RCMP located and arrested three suspects believed to have been involved. A fourth suspect was not located at the time.

On Thursday, July 11, officers in Penticton were alerted that the suspect was living in Okanagan Falls. Police responded to the residence Thursday morning and arrested the suspect.

The individual will appear in court on Friday.
