Fire Destroys Cabin

Fire destroyed a historic building near Princeton Tuesday morning.

The 100-year-old cabin, located on Summerland Road near Bankier, was once
used as a stop for the Kettle Valley Railway.

Constable Myrl Stus says a man living in the cabin had a fire going in the
fireplace, which got out of control, causing flames to spread from the
chimney to the rest of the building.

He says the man was uninjured and managed to save a few items from the
cabin.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
